The first rocket competition for high school and university students in the Czech Republic. Following a successful "zero" year under the auspices of ESA BIC Czech Republic, the Czech Rocket Society takes over the reins of organizing this competition.”
Participating teams receive instructions, an engine, and an altimeter, but the construction of the rocket is entirely up to them. The rockets are typically around 1 meter in length, and the competition aims to provide students with an experience of real rocket engineering. Therefore, the teams are evaluated not only on their rocket's ability to reach the highest altitude but also on the sophistication of its design and their ability to master the challenge. Teams are also assessed on their ability to predict the rocket's maximum height.
Around 22 teams were registered for the first year of the competition, but only 8 of them made it to the finals, mainly due to the pandemic.
Competition results (university students):
1. Xperience Aerospace (ČVUT)
2. CTU Space Research (ČVUT)
3. Je dobrá, ale stejně… (ČVUT)
The second year of the competition required dividing the participants into two categories - university and high school due to incredible interest of over 70 registered teams. Eventually, 30 teams made it to the finals, out of which 27 launched their rockets.
Competition results (highschool students):
1. Gykovy Vega (Gymnázium Vyškov)
2. SpaceXD (Gymnázium Dačice)
3. Jerria (SPŠ Brno)
Third year of the competition saw more categories introduced, including jury's prizes. Nineteen teams made it into the finals. We were thrilled to welcome Aleš Svoboda (ESA astronaut reserve) or Karel Dobeš.
